„When teh sun kisses the moon“ is a performative ritual that blends structured elements with improvised moments, guiding participants through altered states of consciousness interspersed with fixed interventions such as songs, poems, and stories. It centers on exploring intimate ways of communicating with nature—trees, mushrooms, plants, the earth, stars, our own bodies. The primary aim is to reenact a collective ritual that restores the magical connection between the human and non-human worlds. Through a meditative interplay of music, dance, spoken word, and projected film fragments, the performance offers a shared experience of a new cosmology—one that breaks with the anthropocentric worldview of the Anthropocene. Instead, it encourages a collaborative relationship with the earth akin to an equal, loving partnership. This is an exercise in fostering interrelatedness while maintaining sovereignty, showing how we can cultivate a more affectionate and balanced relationship with the planet we inhabit and are inherently part of.The project began with a desire to create a poetic, performative response to urgent issues like climate change and turbulent politics. By engaging the creative mind, the event seeks to move beyond the sense of alienation caused by centuries of exploiting natural resources. It advocates for a renewed act of listening—tuning in to the vegetal narratives of the land we live on. Through its cosmic and earthly journey, the event evokes a profound sense of connection with the planet. The use of music, dance, poetry, and imagery fosters an embodied experience for performers and audiences alike, provoking a transformative perspective on ecology, politics, and our role within a larger, interdependent system. This ritual invites us to step into a renewed understanding of our place in the cosmos—a creative and intimate collaboration with the earth, one that nurtures both personal and planetary well-being.
